Mark Pellington on MTV’s Buzz Image

Light years ahead of its time, Buzz was groundbreaking, confronting audiences with questions we continue to grapple with today. MTV’s short-lived documentary series Buzz is as relevant now as it was in 1990 when it first aired. Show creator Mark Pellington (director of indies Arlington Road, The Mothman Prophecies) reveals the incredible story behind this influential cult series.

    Thanks for posting this! Great interview about a very interesting show that I remember well. Pellington is wrong about one thing, though: there absolutely were commercials on MTV from the very beginning in 1981. It was an advertising supported service from the start.
