Lloyd Kaufman Celebrates Four Decades of Troma with Release of New Title

By Chris Gore | February 9, 2018

Return to Return to Nuke ‘Em High aka Volume 2 is the explosive finale of Lloyd Kaufman’s inspired two-part indie event film, the continuation of the compelling adventure of Lauren and Chrissy, two lesbian lovers who face the most corrupt and evil forces ever to descend upon Tromaville…and the world! When a perverse conspiracy is launched by the demented CEO of a multi-national “organic food” company, our heroines become embroiled in a death defying fight to restore their own humanity. Will they survive? (See the movie!) Is it gratuitous? (Yes) Is it over-the-top? (hell yes). It is Safe For Work?  (Hell no. It’s the very definition of Not Safe For Work, or life, or well, anything really).

At the urging of Quentin Tarantino, Lloyd Kaufman marked the 40th year of Troma by writing and directing a two-part “Event Film”: Return to Nuke ‘Em High: Vol. 1 & 2. It’s a hilarious romp with a social conscience touching on themes near and  dear: the contamination and degradation of the world’s food supply, rampant bullying, and LGBTQ love triumphing over prejudice and violence.

In Vol. 2 The Nuke ‘Em High crew is back and even more outrageous than ever. The film, a revisiting of Troma’s 1986 Class of Nuke ‘Em High is high school seen through the unique vision of Lloyd Kaufman and the Troma Team. At Tromaville High School the glee club has mutated into a vicious gang of Cretins. Chrissy and Lauren must fight not only the Cretins, mutants and monsters but also the evil Tromorganic Foodstuffs Conglomerate. Can they and Kevin the Wonder Duck save their school and the world?
