INDIAN DRAG QUEENS REVEALED!

By Film Threat Staff | August 29, 2003

India’s first film on drag queens, “The Pink Mirror”, is having its Texas Premier at the Austin Gay & Lesbian International Film Festival.
“The Pink Mirror”, set in ‘a la Bollywood’ style format with song, dance, drama and desire, is a colorful, funny look into the Indian homosexual closet, in a country where homosexuality is still taboo. The film has been BANNED in India by the Censor Board of India because of its gay content.
And you know what one of the major rules around here is – IF IT’S BANNED, IT’S GOOD.
The film pits two Indian drag queens against a westernized gay teenager in a battle to woo a handsome hunk. Who will win? The drag queens who are expert in the art of seduction with their wit, innuendo and cunning, or the young teenager who is saucy, slutty and sly?
We vote for the slut.
“The Pink Mirror,” will be screened on August 31st at 12:45 PM at the Regal Metropolitan Theater.
