ROCK N ROLL HIGH SCHOOL

Reader Nicholas Galvante delivered three channel-specific suggestions from the glory days of cable TV: “On the Sci-Fi Channel feature presentation. Killer Klowns from Outer Space. Cinemax feature. death row gameshow. And on USA’s Up All Night hosted by The great Rhonda Shear and Gilbert Gottfried… Rock N Roll High School. Gilbert made the movie feel special, no matter how good or bad!”

We think that Gilbert Gottfried should introduce every movie on this list. Here’s a promo from his days on USA’s Up All Night…

MAD MAX

Renaldo Kell added the postapocalyptic flick to our list. When asked if the sequels are just as rewatchable as the original, Renaldo had a simple answer: “All of them.”

Why? Because, as film scholar Lindsay Ellis writes, “Max a character that gets not one, but… two whole iterations in film.” Watch Lindsay break down the franchise in an epic video essay…

THE CAR

Reader and former Film Threat editor David E. Williams added a 1977 horror movie. The description says it all: “The peaceful tranquility of a small Western town is disturbed when a murderous car wreaks havoc by viciously mowing down innocent victims. The new sheriff, Wade Parent (James Brolin, The Amityville Horror), may be the only one who can stop this menace in its tracks. But what Wade Parent doesn’t realize is that the driver of this indestructible vehicle is far more dangerous than any man… because it is driven by pure evil.”

Who wouldn’t want to watch that over and over again?
