DAZED AND CONFUSED

Brad Gibson suggested this classic film. Every single scene had memorable lines and memorable performances from kids who would grow up to be great actors. Not to mention that a generation of filmmakers learned their craft by watching this movie over and over again.

Scenes like this one were so influential and rewatchable:

CADDYSHACK

James Chase suggested this movie that feels like a warm blanket every time we watch it. This movie got heavy rotation during the heyday of cable TV. To remind yourself of those days, watch an HBO feature presentation bumper from the 1980s for CADDYSHACK II…

BILL AND TED’S EXCELLENT ADVENTURE

One Reddit reader recalled re-watching this movie endlessly as a kid. Hundreds of other movie fans shared that memory. One reader shared memories of some other classics at the same time: “This is probably the one movie I’ve seen more than Star Wars movies. Close behind is Legend, Labyrinth, and of course, The Princess Bride.”

The original trailer sums up what makes this movie so fun, in classic movie trailer style…

SUPERFUZZ

Once upon a time, in a world without the internet or Netflix, film fans developed a deep appreciation for whatever movie was playing (over and over again) on the cable box that weekend.

Reader Christopher Bickel reminisced about those days: “Specifically, from the era of the “HBO Feature Presentation,” two movies that I must have watched 50 times each during that time were SUPERFUZZ and JEKYLL AND HYDE TOGETHER AGAIN.”

Reader Bryan Land added another memory: “I put my cassette recorder up to the TV to tape the Super Fuzz title song when it played on HBO. I then choreographed my own dance to it. Dedicated!”

Check out those opening credits.
