Mission Impossible: Fallout
The Mission Impossible film franchise has been going since its first release back in 1996. Starring Tom Cruise as Ethan Hunt, the films center around this young spy and the Impossible Missions Force (IMF) that he works for. Mission Impossible: Fallout is the most recent film released in the franchise that now marks the sixth film in the MI series. For film fans who love action-packed sequences and thrilling fight scenes, this film (or any film in the series) is a great one to watch if you enjoy action films.

The Goonies is a classic film and a family comedy favourite across the world. The film involves a group of young kids, calling themselves ‘The Goonies’ who go on a quest to find long-lost treasure after discovering an ancient map. If you’re looking for a great comedy film to watch this year then Mars Attacks! by Tim Burton is a fantastic one to check out. Narcos
As well as some exciting movies to watch, there are also many popular TV shows to watch on Netflix this year too. Narcos is a Netflix exclusive crime drama both set and filmed in Columbia that focuses around the drug lords and kingpins who have operated in the country over the years. Seasons one and two of Narcos are based around drug lord Pablo Escobar who first started running drugs in the country in the late 1970s. This crime drama has proven to be quite popular since its release in 2015, and has even inspired Narcos merchandise and even Narcos video slot games over the years too.
Making A Murderer
Another popular crime TV show that has been well-received by fans is the Netflix documentary series Making a Murderer. For fans of the true crime genre, this is one interesting documentary for you to watch this year. The series centers around the story of Steven Avery who served eighteen years in prison on a wrongful conviction of the sexual assault and attempted murder of Penny Beerntsen. After his exoneration, release, and the civil lawsuit that he filed, Avery was later convicted again this time for the murder of Teresa Halbach. The series was widely viewed by audiences and generated much controversy over the legal system. For fans of a good true crime documentary, Making A Murderer is an interesting one to add to your watchlist.

Joker
If you are a fan of DC comics then the recent Joker film will be one you might enjoy.
