Zoomgo.com, a new online community site, has launched Zoomgo Film Fest 2000. The virtual film festival showcases short films and animation from independent filmmakers around the world. The focus of the festival is on the talents and achievements of young filmmakers in the relatively new medium of films streamed across the Internet.
The online film festival showcases 100 independent films streamed through the use of Windows Media technology. The festival site, located at [ www.zoomgo.com/film ], is open to all Internet users from June 1 – July 31, 2000. Members of Zoomgo.com will vote the top ten films, and then a panel of judges will select and award the top three films with awards of $500, $1,000, and $5,000. The festival judges include Sundance award winners, directors, writers, and producers from the professional film industry.
