YOUR MAMA NEVER WENT TO TUPPERWARE PARTIES LIKE THIS

By Film Threat Staff | July 10, 2002

If in Sonoma on July 20th, make sure you stop by the Red Grape to shop for some Tupperware, drink some wine and chat it up with a couple of drag queens. After all, it’s for the good of the Sonoma Valley Education Foundation.

Mr. Quintero (Miss Mexico) and Mr. Andersson (Miss Antarctica) star in “Queen of the Whole Wide World”, a favorite at this year’s Sonoma Valley Film Festival. “Queen” documents an annual drag queen beauty contest that raises money for the cure of AIDS. Miss Mexico and Miss Antarctica may have lost to Miss France in the film, but they won the hearts of the festival audience.

So, still in the benefit mood, Miss Mexico and Miss Antarctica have agreed to host a Tupperware party at the Red Grape to meet and greet Sonoma residents and Tupperware fetishists to help raise money for two local non-profit
organizations – the Sonoma Valley Film Society and the Sonoma Valley Education Foundation.

“Sonoma’s favorite visiting drag queens have graciously offered to host an ever-so-unique Tupperware Party as a gift for our community and two of my favorite non-profit organizations”, exclaims party co-host and local resident Kim Enzensperger, who is also a volunteer coordinator for the Sonoma Valley Film Festival. “Kris and Oscar will bring along and sell state-of-the-art Tupperware that everyone in our diverse community can use and is reasonably priced. What better way to ‘go shopping’ for essential household items but by stopping by The Red Grape on a warm summer day, grabbing a slice of great pizza, and enjoying the company of 2 amazing, fascinating queens?”

I couldn’t agree anymore. The Tupperware party at the Red Grape will begin at 1pm and likely end around 4pm. Complimentary cold non-alcoholic beverages, wine and snacks will be provided, along with lively conversation, photo opportunities, and, most importantly, a wide selection of well-priced Tupperware!

The Red Grape is located at 529 First Street West in Sonoma.
