WONDERCON 2002 ADDS 2-NIGHT FILM FEST

WonderCon, the largest comic book and pop culture event in Northern California, has added a new slate of nighttime films to their impressive event. Friday, April 19th and Saturday, April 20th will now feature premieres and special screenings of cool shorts, animation, features and plenty of the best indie fare out there.
Those in attendance will be able to check out (take a deep breath) the two new “Thumb” movies by Steve Oedekerk, Thumbtanic and The Blair Thumb, the best of Pixar’s animated short films, the complete Agent 15, with a special appearance by director Augusta, Major Damage by Chris Baily, Kog-Head and Meatus by Doug TenApel, Unbakeable, Robot Bastard, and The Real Spider-Man.
Two B-movie homages will also screen — Blood on the Backlot and The Human Beeing. WonderCon also plays host to the Bay area premiere of Jeff Cioletti’s new doc Chronotrip, which focuses on time travel, with a special emphasis on Doctor Who. Night owls will be treated to two late-night Kung-Fu movies, The Assassin, and the U.S. premiere of Fist of Fury, starring Donnie Yen
WonderCon keeps the film action going during the day with a special presentation on Making Movies at Pixar, featuring behind-the-scenes footage never unspooled outside of the Pixar offices of Toy Story 2, A Bug’s Life, and Monsters, Inc.
Guests will also be treated to a special preview of the upcoming Spider-Man movie, hosted by artists John Romita Sr. and John Romita Jr., and “Trailer Park,” the WonderCon favorite featuring the best in upcoming movie previews.
WonderCon is held at the Oakland Marriott City Center and Oakland Convention Center April 19th-21st, 2002. Admission is $35.00 for 3-days, and $15.00 for one day.
