WHAT ARE SADDAM’S OSCAR PICKS?

By Film Threat Staff | March 4, 2003

That’s right. Just what are Saddam’s Oscar picks this year? You think the guy would have an opinion of some sort on the matter. After all, he owns a $90-million stake in Lagardere SCA, the French parent company of Hachette Filipacchi, the publisher of numerous U.S. magazines, including Premiere, and the backer of several French and Hollywood motion pictures. This information was reported by the New York Post last week.
For some of us this is old news, as word of Saddam’s holdings in Lagardere was dug up during the Gulf War in 1990. For the rest of us, we probably just have bad memories, or were too busy in the early 90s taking drugs, screwing our brains out, or doing homework to notice. Whatever the case, it’s been over ten years now and Saddam still holds stake in the company.
So let’s hear it, Saddam. Will it be Kidman or Zellweger? Lewis or Nicholson?
