Running April 11-13, the 2003 Phoenix Film Festival will take place at the AMC Arizona Center Theaters. The Phoenix Film Festival celebrates the independent filmmaker by being one of the only film festivals in the world to exclusively showcase feature films made for under $1 million and short films made for under $50,000. More than 60 shorts and feature films from around the world will be shown during the 3-day event, including the Arizona premiere of the Lions Gate film Confidence, starring Edward Burns and Dustin Hoffman and directed by James Foley.
The festival kicks off Friday at 5:00pm with the traditional Opening Night Gala, followed by a tribute to James Foley, including a live Q&A with Foley and Edward Burns. The festival’s second tribute, honoring Prince of Puke John Waters, will be held on Sunday and closely followed by a performance of his one-man show, “The World is Trash.”
