WALNUT CREEK WELCOMES FESTIVAL IN 2002

By Film Threat Staff | June 25, 2002

The Walnut Creek Film Festival will debut on November 7th, 2002 before wrapping up three days later on November 10th.. Walnut Creek has been voted “the most livable small city in the nation,” and the beautiful Bay Area town boasts a thriving filmmaking and film-attending community.
The all-new Festival already aims to influence the film community at-large in a major way:
While independent of San Francisco, filmmakers can expect to reach the metropolitan community of nearly 3 million people. Press from all over the Bay area will be attending. The WCFF boasts staff from the Telluride Film Festival, HBO and ongoing collaborations with Sundance, among others. Cash awards will be presented to our award-winning filmmakers on Sunday, November 10, 2002 at the Regional Center for the Arts.
Although the Festival definitely intends to focus on the work of area and local filmmakers, film submissions from all over the U.S and world are encouraged as well.
For more information, including entry details and more on the upstart Festival, visit the excellent Walnut Creek Film Festival site or email info@wcfilmfest.com. You can also reach Festival staff at (925) 938-3700.
