THE WIZARD, OZ

By Rory L. Aronsky | July 25, 2004

In trailer form, Luke Skywalker and friends (Han Solo as “The Scoundrel”, Chewbacca as “The Cowardly Wookie”, and C-3PO as “The Gold-Man”) are off to see the wizard in an amusing parody of “The Wizard of Oz”, and the title of this one will make sense to those who are also aware of one man whose voice talent brought one of the greatest Star Wars creations to life. If you know Yoda, then you know who he is, and “The Wizard, Oz” is a fine compliment not only to his work as Yoda but also for bringing a large number of other Muppets to life.

As for the parody itself, this band of adventurers are great here and who would ever have thought Chewbacca to be “Cowardly”, short of not wanting to get into that garbage compactor? It’s a good bit of fun in a small package.
