The good folks behind the Sixth Annual Waterfront Film Festival are brimming with excitement over their upocoming event as they are saying this is their “best program ever.”
“Putting together the program has taken another big step up this year,” Co-Founder Hopwood DePree said. “We hope Waterfront is on the way to rivaling some of the best festivals out there, I think we’re definitely setting the bar for this part of the country.” Although some films have been invited as special engagements, the core of the program is still handpicked from over 600 submissions.
In addition to the expansion of special screenings, festival planners have also expanded the theatres themselves, adding a new filmmaker hangout dubbed the Waterfront Lodge where filmmakers and audiences can mingle for panels and networking. “We had to get a little bigger without losing our charm,” said DePree.
The 6th Annual Festival runs June 10 to 13 in Saugatuck, Michigan. Among this year’s programmed films are Open Water, Riding Giants, A League of Ordinary Gentlemen and Dead & Breakfast.
