THE RETURN OF THE SILVER LAKE FILM FESTIVAL

Now in its 4th year, the Silver Lake Film Festival will be held over 10 days, Sept. 10-18. Highlights include a tribute to Oscar nominee John C. Reilly; a “Cinema a la Mexicana, spotlighting for the first time the role of
women filmmakers in the current new wave of Mexican cinema.
Other highlights include “Blaxploitation Revisited,” a fresh look at the blaxploitation films of the 1970s; “Axis Of Evil: New Films From Iran, Iraq and Korea”; and, a special Closing Night program honoring the 80th anniversary of the historic Vista Theater, complete with a
screening of the first film to ever show at the Vista and an appearance by its star, Silent Era child actress Baby Peggy.
