Never ones to let a good franchise die, Universal has given the green light to another sequel to “The Mummy.” However of all the cast and crew of the original films, only Brendan Fraser is sure to be back. That means no director Stephen Sommers and there’s new writers, two dudes from “Smallville.” Also, unless Rachel Weisz needs some quick cash to buy more Oscar statue polish, it’s doubtful she’ll slum it yet again. Time will tell.
