THE GODFATHER OF GORE STEPS IN FRONT OF THE CAMERA

By Film Threat Staff | July 10, 2002

The godfather of gore seems to be on a roll these days and for that we’re grateful. Herschell Gordon Lewis (“Blood Feast”, “Wizard of Gore”), having recently completed Blood Feast 2, is already involved with another project…this time in front of the camera.

“Hunting for Herschell”, directed by Robert Hooker, pays homage to the legendary director. The film is about two gore freaks who hunt down Lewis in order to try and persuade him to produce their film. Things get out of hand, however as they re-enact death scenes from Lewis’s films on anyone that stands in their way. Herschell Gordon Lewis will play himself in the feature.

Shooting on “Hunting for Herschell” has begun and will continue through July/August 2002 in South Florida.
