The first annual Independent Film Festival of Boston has issued its call for entries, so get off your butts and get those films in. Taking place May 1-4, 2003, the festival will feature more than 50 works comprising new independent films, documentaries, shorts and student films.
“Specifically, we’re looking for artistic, thought provoking films made by independent filmmakers that have not had the opportunity to share their voice with the world,” said the Festival’s Executive Director, Jason Redmond. “We were founded to give them that opportunity.”
Seminars with industry professionals on writing, producing, and financing; informal conversations with filmmakers and celebrities about their careers; special guest and filmmaker VIP events; tributes to the actors, writers and directors and other previous unknowns of independent film will also be included during the four day festival.
Early entry deadline is November 15th with filmmakers being able to take 50% off the entry fee based on the length of their film. The general submission deadline is January 30th with a late deadline of March 1st.
