THE END IN SIGHT…

By Mark Bell | June 15, 2007

Here we are, the second to last day of CineVegas 2007. It’s hard to believe it’s almost over, seems like it just got started. Then again, I think I’m ready for the end. Just wilting in energy, had a moment the other day where I caught myself blindly staring at nothing for God knows how long and… it’s been a blast, but my a*s is kicked. But on with some pics…

Last night was a special presentation of “Blue Velvet” with director David Lynch and star Dennis Hopper in attendance. Don’t believe me, here’s David Lynch:

And our very own Jamie Tipps was lucky enough to have her picture taken with both Lynch and Hopper!

I saw an amazing movie on Thursday, “California Dreamin’ (Endless),” and a God-awful movie, “In the Land of Merry Misfits.” The former was this brilliant Romanian film that just hooked you and pulled you along with a big-ole appreciative smile on your face. The latter was like being corn-holed by a pineapple. And that’s all I’ve got to say about that…

This final picture is for two reasons: 1.) to prove that Mike Plante is almost impossible to photograph with contemporary equipment and 2.) so Mike has something show up the next time he self-Googles his name 😉

    Let’s see, about Jamie…

I’m thinking Leslie Caron circa “An American in Paris” mixed with Molly Ringwald, circa “Sixteen Candles” or “The Breakfast Club,” take your pick.

Or maybe another actress, but she’s definitely got that Leslie Caron in that grin.

I’m pleased that we always strive for quality here.

The festival does not end until the last party winds down this evening, but no winner has been crowned thus far…

  3. Michael Ferraro says:

Mark, I have a question. Remember that little competition everyone had last year (sadly Jamie lost even though she has better equipment than all of us)…?

How did she do this year? She looks like she might have had no problem winning…

  4. Felix Vasquez Jr. says:

    Hel-looo Jamie.
