BOOTLEG FILES 050: “Metropolis – The Giorgio Moroder Version” (1984 rock scored version of the Fritz Lang silent sci-fi masterpiece).

LAST SEEN: In a one-time Light + Screen Film Festival Screening in New York in January 2000.

AMERICAN HOME VIDEO: On the now-defunct Vestron Video label in the late 1980s (also on laserdisc).

REASON FOR DISAPPEARANCE: Moroder’s license to the “Metropolis” property expired and was not renewed.

CHANCES OF SEEING A DVD RELEASE: It ain’t coming back any time soon!

BOOTLEG OPPORTUNITIES: Some guy on eBay is selling his own DVDs based on the laserdisc release.
