THANKSGIVING WITH JOHN CANDY

By Film Threat Staff | November 22, 2000

Tell the truth, who would you rather spend Thanksgiving with: comedic legend and all-around nice guy John Candy, or whatever family you’ve got lined up? If Sir John makes the cut in your book, then be ready for a full day of cinematic finery beginning at [ 1:30 PM ] on [ Thursday, November 23rd ] on the New Encore channel.
Things get rolling along nicely with “Who’s Harry Crumb?” which will be followed by “Armed and Dangerous,” “Wagon’s East,” “Nothing But Trouble” and the zany “Uncle Buck”. A good smattering of Candy, to be sure, but where’re “The Great Outdoors,” “Stripes” and “Planes, Trains and Automobiles”? No matter — still a very decent line-up. For more on the John Candy Marathon, see the [ official Encore website. ]
