SXSW CALLS FOR 2007!

The South By Southwest Film Conference & Festival has announced the Call for Entries to be considered for the 2007 Film Festival. In addition, SXSW has launched the 2007 version of the festival’s Web site, www.sxsw.com. The next SXSW Film Conference & Festival will be held March 9-17, 2007 throughout Austin, TX.
SXSW accepts submissions of all kinds, both feature-length and short. Categories include: Narrative, Documentary, Animation, Music Video, and Experimental. The early submission deadline is November 17, 2006 and the final submission deadline is December 8, 2006. Application prices and full details can be found online at www.sxsw.com/film/submit.

“We’re ready to go, and excited about SXSW 2007,” says Festival Producer Matt Dentler. “The 2006 festival was a massive achievement for us and for the filmmakers involved. For 2007, we’re going to do what we can to focus our energy on the best program possible. This will make the selection process even more competitive, but also yield a program that no one will forget.”

The SXSW 2006 Film Conference & Festival witnessed a record number of over 50,000 attendees, 180 selected films, over 50 world-premiere features, star-studded parties, and international industry presence. In the coming months, SXSW will unveil some of the “Spotlight Premere” selections, as well as details for the ever-popular Panels and Workshops that comprise the annual SXSW Film Conference.
