SXSW 2001 GEARS UP

The South by Southwest Film Conference , which runs from [ March 9th ] through [ March 13th, 2001 ] , has been a must-attend event for film and media pros for ages, but the Austin, TX. event is now the epicenter for much of what’s new and cool in the industry for film-loving people of all stripes. In fact, Film Threat’s Chris Gore rates SXSW as the second most important film festival in the U.S., and he adds, “Spend a weekend at SXSW and you’ll get almost the same amount of inspiration you’d get from four years of film school. It’s really that cool.”
The 2001 Conference looks to be amazing, with featured attendees including Penelope Spheeris, Michael Moore, Quentin Tarantino, Robert Rodriguez, our own Chris Gore, and many, many other notable names.
SXSW 2001 will also focus on innovations in film technology and new media during their special [ Film/Interactive Trade Show ] , which runs from [ Sunday, March 11th ] through [ Tuesday, March 13th ] . For registration information and all details, see the [ South by Southwest site. ]
