The Brooks Pharmacy Providence/Rhode Island International Film Festival for indie film and video has announced an official call for screenplays for the 5th annual Festival, which is slated to take place from [ August 8th ] through [ August 12th, 2001 ] in historic Providence, and throughout the state of Rhode Island.
The Fest needs screenplays in all genres, but they must have been written after 1997. The Grand Prize winner will have segments of their work produced in a production class, and the lucky writer will also take home $2,500 for their efforts.
All Rhode Island screenplays will be judged on “creativity, innovation, vision, originality and the use of language.” So all of your formulaic, generic, and illiterate pieces should probably get a once-over before you decide to submit. The deadline for all entries is [ June 1st, 2001 ] .
