The 11th Annual Stockholm Film Festival, which took place from [ November 9th ] through [ November 19th, 2000 ] hosted, beyond their traditional film event, an online showcase dubbed iFestival. Ten outstanding global short films were screened online for the duration of the Festival-proper, and voters logged in to watch the group and pick the winner.
447,000 voter viewings later, the winner surfaced — Lisbeth Svarling’s “Cloud Cover” came out on top, and the filmmaker got to snatch up her award in the presence of screen legend Lauren Bacall, the Festival’s Guest of Honor. The ten shorts can still be seen at the [ Stockholm Festival site. ]
