SLAMDANCE OPENING AND CLOSING

Slamdance 2003 opens at 6:00 PM on Saturday, January 18th with the World Premiere of writer/director Ken Bowser’s feature documentary “EASY RIDERS, RAGING BULLS” (2202, 120 min., USA/UK), based on Peter Biskind’s best seller about late 1960s and 70s filmmaking. An Opening Night Party will follow.
The festival will close on Friday, January 24th with a 5 PM World Premiere screening of Allan Mindel’s “MILWAUKEE, MINNESOTA” (2002, 95 min., USA). The past meets the present when Milwaukee’s best fishermen, a young man perceived to be mentally disabled, finds himself the target of two separate con artist out to steal his money. The Slamdance Sparky Awards Presentation and a Closing Night Celebration will follow the screening.
Slamdance also announces the $99 Specials Line Up (Films made by Slamdance Alumni for $99 in 99 days), as well as the fourth installment in their “Dirty Dozen” DVD series. This year’s short film DVD compilation is “Twelve Angry Women”, the first Slamdance DVD to feature all female filmmakers. The DVD will be available at the festival.
The ninth annual Slamdance Film Festival will return to the Treasure Mountain Inn (255 Main Street) at the top of Main Street in Park City, Utah. Be there or be freezing your a*s off out on the street, fignuts!
