DAILY VARIETY reports Universal Pictures has teamed up with Dimension Films to adapt Martin Caidin’s 1972 novel “Cyborg,” which served as the inspiration for the “Six Million Dollar Man” TV series that Universal TV produced from ’74-78.
Larry Gordon will produce the film, and potential sequels based on follow-up novels “Operation Nuke,” “High Crystal,” and “Cyborg IV,” with Scott Faye and Paul Rosenberg’s Collision Entertainment.
It’s rumored Kevin Smith, who wrote a “Six Million Dollar Man” feature for Universal in ’95, could become involved with the project.
