SCORSESE AND OTHERS HONORED AT HOLLYWOOD FILM FESTIVAL

By Film Threat Staff | July 10, 2002

During the upcoming Hollywood Film Festival, October 1-8, Martin Scorsese will be presented with the Hollywood Outstanding Achievement in Directing Award at the Hollywood Movie Awards Gala Ceremony. “Hollywood Outstanding Achievement in Directing Award”? If I were Martin, I’d throw that award across the room and demand to know where my goddamn Oscar is.

Also being honored with awards at the Gala Ceremony will be screenwriter Robert Towne (“Orca” and “Swing Shift”), Academy Award winning producer Douglas Wick (“The Craft”, “Wolf”), producer and former studio executive Lucy Fisher (“Stuart Little 2”), Academy Award winning cinematographer Janusz Kaminski (“Little Giants”, “Cool As Ice”) and Academy Award nominated composer Marc Shaiman (“My Giant”, “George of the Jungle”).

Sure are a lot of awards flying around these days. Kinda hard to keep up with them…if you wanted to that is.
