SASQUATCH LEAVES DUMPLINGS ON THE SIDEWALK

By Film Threat Staff | August 31, 2006

THE SASQUATCH DUMPLING GANG will open the 8th annual Sidewalk Moving Picture Festival on Friday, September 22 at 8 pm at the Alabama Theatre, according to festival director and co-founder Erik Jambor.

From the team that brought you NAPOLEON DYNAMITE, the film is a comedy about a young, fantasy/sci-fi aficionado Gavin Gore (Jeremy Sumpter) and his friends who stumble onto some huge footprints in the woods. A local cop, reporter and a renowned Sasquatch authority investigate, while two of Gavin’s dim-witted neighbors hatch a scheme to profit from the situation.

THE SASQUATCH DUMPLING GANG stars Jeremy Sumpter (PETER PAN), Justin Long (ACCEPTED, DODGEBALL, DREAMLAND), Joey Kern (SUPER TROOPERS, XX/XY), Carl Weathers (“In the Heat of the Night”, HAPPY GILMORE) and Rob Pinkston (“Punk’d” Nickelodeon’s “Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide”).

Writer/director Tim Skousen and star Joey Kern are scheduled to attend the Opening Night Celebration and participate in a Q & A following the film.

“This is the perfect film to open our 8th annual festival,” Jambor said. “This film has received a lot of critical praise over the last few months and having the chance to bring it to Birmingham, where people are eager to see new films, is truly groundbreaking for the festival. It is guaranteed to please all audiences.”
