SAN DIEGO COMIC-CON GETS INDEPENDENT ONCE AGAIN

By Film Threat Staff | April 18, 2003

Comic-Con International Independent Film Festival returns July 17-20! Last year, Comic-Con International: San Diego launched the CCI-IFF, the Comic-Con International Independent Film Festival. Dedicated to showcasing the best in genre-related fan films over the 4-day event, CCI-IFF returns this year from July 17 through July 20 at the San Diego Convention Center.
Not a juried event (there are no prizes), the CCI-IFF offers filmmakers and the audience a great interactive forum to showcase films. Each film is booked into a timeslot that includes introductory and Q&A time with the filmmakers and cast and crew members.
The criteria for the CCI-IFF is simple: genre-related films (comics, animation, science fiction, fantasy, adventure) that are appropriate for an all-ages audience (no nudity, no excessive violence or swearing). Comic-Con also asks that a member (or members) of the filmmaking crew be present to discuss the film. While films of all lengths are encouraged, shorter films tend to make up the bulk of the schedule.
The deadline for entry is June 1, 2003.
