"ROCK OPERA" ON THE BIG SCREEN

By Film Threat Staff | October 10, 2000

Toe just wants to get his band off the ground. In order to assemble a tour, he’s willing to go through the typical fundraisers — selling dirt weed, backstabbing, and double-crossing “half a dozen of the meanest sons of b*****s in Texas.” The story of Toe is the heart of “Rock Opera,” one of the funnier, and druggier, films to hit the festival circuit.
Upcoming film festival appearances for “Rock Opera” include the Leeds International Film Festival in England, the Austin Film Festival, the New Orleans Film and Video Festival, and another jaunt overseas for the Euro-Underground Film Festival in Krakow, Poland. Those lucky enough to be stateside for the Austin screening of “Rock Opera” will be privy to the drunken after-party on [ Saturday, October 14th ] at The Red Eyed Fly (715 Red River, right around the corner from 6th street.)
“Rock Opera” also rocks hard online at its smoking web-home, where visitors can check out cast biographies, lots of photos, and a schedule of appearances. Go to the [ the official “Rock Opera” web shrine. ]
