QUENTIN TARANTINO RETURNS TO AUSTIN FOR 'QT 6'

By Admin | September 8, 2005

The Austin Film Society has announced that Quentin Tarantino will return to Austin this September to host “QT 6,” a nine-day film festival programmed from his personal collection. From Sept. 9 through Sept. 17, the Austin Film Society will screen more than 20 films hand-picked by Tarantino at Alamo Drafthouse Downtown.
“Quentin Tarantino is a true film aficionado whose exuberant passion for ’60s and ’70s cinema is matched only by his encyclopedic knowledge,” AFS Executive Director Rebecca Campbell said. “Not everything in the QT fest is for everyone, but we guarantee some actor or scene in this festival will blow audiences away.”
Since 1996, Tarantino has brought five QT fests to Austin. The last fest was in 2001, prior to Tarantino’s directing KILL BILL, VOLUMES I and II. Showing everything from PLANET OF THE VAMPIRES to DIXIE DYNAMITE, the fest features theme nights like “Cheerleader Movies,” “Sci-Fi Horror Marathon,” “Spaghetti Westerns” and “Old School Kung Fu Films.”
