"PLANET OF THE APES" TOYS IN THE WORKS

Tim Burton’s version of the classic sci-fi film “Planet of the Apes” isn’t expected to wrap up shooting until this April, but fans will get a peek of a different sort come February when the [ New York International Toy Fair ] unveils some of the cool toys from this sure-to-be amazing film.
[ Hasbro ] and [ Applause ] have licenses to create plushes and figures based on the “Planet” and [ Dark Horse Comics ] will publish “Planet” graphic books and novels. Raving Toy Maniac also reports that other specialty items will follow suit:
“In addition to traditional products such as lunch boxes, posters, knit caps, trading cards, T-shirts and backpacks, the “Planet” line will also include dioramas, inflatable furniture, scooters and scooter heads, underwear, clocks and shower caps.
Start saving that allowance now — the entire line will begun shipping to retailers just before the film’s [ July 2001 ] theatrical release.
