PANCAKE

Jeff Krulik is not entirely well-lit at the International House of Pancakes restaurant he patronized, but he presents a fine idea in making a brief documentary about the pancake, or rather the people at the IHOP restaurant that he’s eating at. After getting some whipped cream around his pancakes, he hands his camera to Brenda, a waitress, and shows her how to operate it. Brenda then takes the camera through to the kitchen and introduces a fellow waitress, and that’s about it. Krulik has a good idea here and he strikes me as the kind of guy who will turn on his camera whenever the mood strikes, and that’s evident through the many shorts that are available on his website. Sure we go to restaurants every now and then, gorging on food that’s not available everyday at home, but Krulik should consider making this into a series, going into restaurants and handing the camera to waiters, waitresses, busboys, whoever wants a turn with the zoom button. Not every restaurant will approve of it, but it could work.
