OHIO FILM FEST SCREENPLAY WINNERS

The Ohio Independent Film Festival and Market recently wrapped another year up on [ November 12th ] , and the first of the winners of the Festival-sponsored Ohio Independent Screenplay Awards (OISA), which was “Halfway Home” by Vin Morreale, Jr. and Debi Kalman Bailey, received an unstaged screenplay reading, with a professional director and cast, at the Fest. The story centers on the lives of some of society’s less-productive citizens.
The other winner was the indie festival favorite “Pobochick” by Loreen Niewenhuis and Robin Slutsky. “Pobochick” is the story of a family’s funeral home antics and their attempts to put the “fun” back in funeral.
