NEW YORK CHILDREN'S FILM FEST

By Film Threat Staff | December 29, 2000

The New York International Children’s Film Festival is the East Coast’s largest youth film festival, and it isn’t one big parade of pandering cartoons or weak silliness — called “more daring and subtle than the usual kids fare,” the Festival aims to redefine what entertainment for the pre-adult set is all about. As they put it, “Young people are sophisticated.” Therefore, the Fest aims to screen features and shorts with plenty of substance.
The annual event is scheduled for [ February 2nd through the 11th, 2001. ] Aside from screenings, the Festival will also host retrospectives, production workshops, and filmmaker Q and A sessions for all audience members.
