NEW LIVE-ACTION FILM ASKS "WHERE'S SCOOBY?"

By Film Threat Staff | October 18, 2000

Come February, the rumors will become reality, as Warner Brothers will begin to shoot a “Scooby Doo” live-action movie. For those wanting to check out the production, all filming will be taking place in Australia, so good luck.
The “Scooby Doo” series has amassed a cult following since its original network debut, and has only gone on to create more fans with its slot on the Cartoon Network. It doesn’t matter that every storyline for every show is without much variation: gang scoot around in the Mystery Mobile and get harassed by a ghoul/monster/creepy thing before unmasking the ne’er-do-well. Daphne was hot, and Shaggy was always somewhat stoned. And of course, every episode had its excuse for a Scooby Snack.
The “Scooby” project will be directed by Raja Gosnell, who recently worked on the Drew Barrymore film “Never Been Kissed”. Gosnell has also been summoned for the upcoming “Fantastic Four” project.
