Horror film “Savage County” will debut on MTV2 tonight, and then immediately be available after the world television premiere on “Sony Playstation, Microsoft Xbox, iTunes, Amazon VOD and many more” digital outlets. The film will not hit DVD until early 2011. Additionally, director David Harris will be online, offering a live director’s commentary on Twitter under the #SavageCounty tag. Harris will remain online for a Q&A during the West Coast airing. From the official press release:
Digital distribution company, FilmBuff, is happy to announce a partnership with the team behind MTV’s new horror film production, Savage County, for a full-scale digital release through the month of October. The film will world premiere October 7th on MTV2, at 11 p.m. EST/10 p.m. CST.
Directed by David Harris, Savage County is the story of a reclusive family of murderers seeking vengeance on a group of young mischief makers after an innocent prank turns deadly. Immediately following the world television premiere, the film will be released on digital platforms such as Sony Playstation, Microsoft Xbox, iTunes, Amazon VOD, and many more. The film will be available in both the broadcast version as well as a “director’s cut.” In addition, FilmBuff will release Savage County on DVD, in early 2011.
