MORE FUN IN THE BACK ALLEY

By Film Threat Staff | March 11, 2003

The Back Alley Cinema is now accepting films for it’s Spring installment of the Back Alley Film Festival. Because of positive response and growth, the festival is branching out beyond local films. Being accepted are short films from national and international artists in addition to submissions by Arizona filmmakers. Films need to be under twenty five minutes. The deadline for submissions is April 9th. The festival goes down on April 19th.
“The Back Alley Cinema” is a venue which co-founder Erik Hulten and Joshua Dragotta have created. In reality it is nothing more than a huge white square painted on a large brick wall in an alley. They painted a mural and gave it a title. But, when the sun goes down the images fly. It’s that grass roots type of cinema that gives it a great feeling.
