MIRAMAX OPTIONS GREEN HORNET

By Film Threat Staff | December 3, 2001

Daily Variety reports that Miramax has optioned the film rights to “The Green Hornet,” now that Universal’s rights to the property have expired.
Universal had been developing a Hornet film since ’92 with little movement on the project.
There’s no director or cast yet in place for the Batman-inspired comic book. Whoever decides to fill Bruce Lee’s shoes in the Kato role will have a lot to live up to. Jet Li seems like the obvious choice at this point and we hope he is on the short list for possible Kato casting, though there is no official word at the moment.
