MELBOURNE 2000

By Film Threat Staff | September 4, 2000

The Melbourne Independent Filmmakers Festival (MIFF 2000) is a festival with the aim of promoting filmmakers and local interest in film. This year’s Festival begins on September 8th and will donate all proceeds, as in ALL of them, to Unconditional Love, Inc. — an organization dedicated to providing better care for area AIDS and HIV+ patients.
The Festival also boasts live music and entertainment, as well as selections ranging from “In Memory of Laura,” the story of an obsessed husband’s stalking of a prostitute who just might be his dead wife, to “The Great Hunger,” which looks at the music and life of Pogue’s frontman Shane MacGowan.
