“LOVELY & AMAZING” BEATS THE “GREEK” IN IFP INDEPENDENT SPIRIT AWARD NOMINATIONS

Nominations for the 2003 IFP Independent Spirit Awards were announced, December 11th, including Best Feature nominations for Far From Heaven, The Good Girl, Lovely & Amazing, Secretary, and “Tully.” Lovely & Amazing leads the pack with six nominations with the smash hit My Big Fat Greek Wedding receiving only one nomination for Best Debut Performance for Nia Vardalos.
Selected from more than 190 submissions, the winners will be unveiled at the IFP Independent Spirit Awards ceremony on Saturday, March 22, 2003. Director John Waters returns for a third consecutive year as Master of Ceremonies for the event, which is held in a tent on the beach in Santa Monica.
