The popular comic strip “Free For All” premieres on July 11th as Showtime’s first-ever animated series.
The comedy series features a pair of cynical friends, whose world includes a lunatic ferret with a terrible drug and alcohol problem, and a homicidal grandmother. In the tradition of “SOUTH PARK,” the show’s biting humor pokes fun at pop culture and marks a concerted push by Showtime to target a younger 18-34 male demographic.
Juliette Lewis (“Old School”), Jonathan Silverman (“The Single Guy”), Mitzi McCall (“Ice Age”), Sam McMurray (“Raising Arizona”) and comic strip creator, Brett Merhar, are all on board to provide voices.
Richard Hull (“On The Line,” “She’s All That”) will produce, along with Merriwether Williams (the head writer from “SpongeBob SquarePants,” currently writing Warner Bros.’ “Wonder Twins” movie).
The producers brought onboard animation powerhouse, Film Roman, to create the animation for “FREE FOR ALL.”
