“I SAW THE DEVIL” NO LONGER PLAYING THE 2010 AFI FEST

By Mark Bell | November 1, 2010

“I Saw the Devil” will no longer being playing at this month’s AFI FEST 2010 presented by Audi. The official statement regarding the screening change stated, “The film I SAW THE DEVIL, originally included in the AFI FEST 2010 presented by Audi program, will no longer be screening at the festival. Ticketholders will be notified today. The six South Korean films that remain in the program are: BEDEVILLED, HAHAHA, THE HOUSEMAID (1960), THE HOUSEMAID (2010), OKI’S MOVIE and POETRY.”

Further questions about the program change were met with the following response: “We cannot comment at this time on the film being pulled from the festival. It was a decision made by the film’s representatives and not by the festival. We regret this unfortunate circumstance and look forward to having Kim Jee-Woon back at the festival in the future.”

So there you go. “I Saw the Devil” pulled from the festival for unknown reasons (or, at least, reasons best not expanded upon at this time).
