GET A NEW PERSPECTIVE

By Film Threat Staff | July 24, 2003

The American Film Institute (AFI) and Frank D. Lanterman Regional Center have joined forces to present PERSPECTIVES, An International Film Festival and Forum Promoting Understanding and Inclusion of People with Developmental Disabilities.
Taking place July 24-27 at the ArcLight in Hollywood, the festival will present domestic and international narrative features, documentaries, and short films that depict the lives of people with developmental disabilities. Each screening will be followed by a moderated discussion in the form of a “town hall” style meeting, a panel discussion or a lively conversation with an expert. The festival will also include two special screenings specifically for adults with developmental disabilities and siblings of individuals with developmental disabilities.
In other words, if you have a developmental disability, this festival has your name all over it.
The program of films include “My Left Foot,” My Flesh and Blood, How’s Your News, and “What’s Eating Gilbert Grape.”
