GAY SEX IN THE 70S

By Eric Campos | November 14, 2005

Things sure were different in the 70s for gay men. Being an era without AIDS, guys f****d whoever they wanted, and according to this doc, it was happening everywhere all the time. “Gay Sex in the 70s” focuses on queer life in New York City in a decade not so long ago that was an all out sex romp for guys who just couldn’t get enough man on man action. Filmmaker Joseph Lovett describes this era as “the most Libertine period the Western world has seen since Rome.” Yowza! He interviews several men from this carefree time who lovingly recount their sexual adventures that took place in the backs of trucks, at the piers, grocery stores, anywhere. Hearing about all of this sexual energy everywhere, you start wondering how anyone made it through the day without getting any sperm on them. Duck! Here comes a load!

The documentary is made up mostly of these entertaining interviews, illustrated by kinky archival photos of guys cruising each other and having sex. Lovett even throws in a little gay porn to illustrate what life was like back then because, basically, as one of the interviewees claims, life was like a porno movie.

“Gay Sex in the 70s” is definitely an eye-opening experience (and even mouth-watering for some) for we babies who were too young to really remember the 70s, a care free time we’ve never really experienced. The film will also serve as a trip down raunchy memory lane for others who were able to fully enjoy themselves in the 70s. Either way, “Gay Sex in the 70s” is a blast. Get some!
