May continued…
“The Babysitters”
Um… babysitters turned call girls to pay for college? Isn’t this the plot of a porn flick or 50?
“What Happens in Vegas”
In the case of this Ashton Kutcher / Cameron Diaz romantic comedy, I wish what happened in Vegas stayed in Vegas. Oh, and when the film comes out, make sure to keep track of how many critics us the same line.
“The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian”
Oh, to be Prince Caspian, and float upon the waves… this Narnia sequel is not the one I’m most interested in. I want to see Samberg and Parnell’s “Lazy Sunday” follow-up to find out if they’re up for another round of the Chronic-WHAT-cles of Narnia.
“Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull”
The return of Indiana Jones will make May 2008 a tremendous time in film history, or a tragedy, depending on how the film turns out. If all I had to go by was the trailer, however… things are going to be good. REAL good.
“Postal”
Folks love to hate Uwe Boll and anything he touches but this time around he actually made something that doesn’t suck. Opening it opposite Indy may not get “Postal” a couple hundred million, but the added publicity coupled with what will be solid word-of-mouth ought to help “Postal” to a very strong showing. And that means Boll isn’t going anywhere (unless that petition gets finished), so you might as well get used to him.
