DIGITAL UNDERGROUND FEST SCORES

By Film Threat Staff | August 31, 2000

August 25th through the 27th marked the 1st birthday of the Digital Underground Film Festival, where hundreds of film hungry Bay Area residents packed into screenings and events. The Festival, which was produced by big brother the San Francisco Independent Film Festival, proved that the popular appetite for indies is larger than ever.
Digital Underground kicked the door open with Patrick Hasson’s “Waiting”–a comedy set in Philly’s food industry. Up-and-comer Will Keenan, the film’s star, even dazzled crowds with his acrobatic prowess by falling off of a balcony.
The next Digital Underground event convenes as a side bar program of the 3rd Annual San Francisco Independent Film Festival, which gets going January 11th and runs until the 21st in 2001. For a look at what you missed, and what’s to come, go to [ the SF Indie Fest site. ]
