From [ Friday, October 20th ] to [ Sunday, October 22nd ] , the San Francisco Film Society will unleash their Dark Wave film series. The movies, which showcase the best in international horror, will be shown at the [ Roxie Cinema ] at [ 3117 16th Street ] in San Francisco.
On opening night, Friday the 20th, the brave can settle in for “Demon Lover Diary” — Joel DeMott’s 1980 documentary about a horror film shoot that goes terribly wrong, including an appearance by a gun-toting Ted Nugent. “Diary” is a take on independent filmmaking gone insane. Also on Friday, director Charly Cantor’s “Blood” creeps over from the U.K. It’s the story of Lux, a gorgeous and mysterious being whose blood is a narcotic that has spawned a legion of junkies thirsting for another hit.
