September 16-21, 2003 marks the 8th annual Cinematexas International Short Film Festival, America’s premier showcase for radical explorations in cinema, sound and moving image arts. Cinematexas will once again light up the American Southwest with its vanguard programming including an in-person retrospective of short films by writer/director Todd Haynes.
“Everywhere we hear that cinema is dead. But everywhere cinema keeps popping up in other forms: music, short films, digital gaming, installation art,” said Artistic Director David Barker. “We answer to no authority other than the passion to discover innovative artists and emergent forms, and the desire to introduce new work to people of every possible background.”
